Feature Overview
We've taken a refined approach to quality, presentation, and the information you can access with WOWDB. Listed below are just some of the features of this brand-new World of Warcraft database, with many more to come in the months ahead. While browsing this feature overview, don't forget to click on the images to see larger versions!Homepage
The homepage of WOWDB is designed to be a sleek, easy-to-use page that enables access to not only the website's powerful search engine, but also drop-down menus containing links to every section of the website. Of course, we've also spruced the page up with fantastic eye-candy, which will no doubt leave you salivating for Wrath of the Lich King even more!
Search Assistant
Ever wanted to find something, but you're not completely sure how to spell the name? The WOWDB Search Assistant is there to help you with just that! Start typing in your search query into the search field and the Search Assistant will give you suggestions on content in the database, related to what you've typed in. Check out the example here to see just how cool it is.
3D Model Previews
With WOWDB, we've taken item, NPC, and character details a step further. Each item and NPC in our database has a special 3D Preview, and items can even be previewed on your character! If you use our Armory Import option to add your character, it will even use the race and gender of your main character!![]() Item Preview | ![]() Character Preview | ![]() NPC Preview |
Robust Item Comparison Tool
Comparing items has never been easier, with WOWDB's "Pin Item" (available on all item details pages) feature that allows you to pin an item for every slot. Clicking the "Pin this Item" button will add it to your pinned items list, and WOWDB will draw its tooltip next to other items of that type when you mouse over their icon, so you can easily compare them. What could be better than that? Once you've either uploaded a character with the Curse Client, or imported a character from the Armory, all of your "Main" character's items (determined in Account Settings) will be displayed as the comparison item. You'll also be able to manage your pinned items in Account Settings, making it easy to remove an item without having to search for it again.

Import Your Armory Profile
So, now you're probably wondering: "How can I get my characters loaded into WOWDB?". Well, it's simple! Under the "My Account" menu -- accessible from every page on the website -- you'll find a selection called "Characters." Head there and you'll find something similar to the image below (though yours will be empty until you fill it out!), where you can get started adding characters from the Armory. You'll also be able to designate which of your characters you'd like to be considered your "Main" here, as seen below. Finally, your main character's race and gender will be used whenever you click on the "Preview on Character" links available on Armor and Weapons.Of course, while the Armory is an amazing service, you'll miss out on some of the great features coming soon, so you may want to use the Curse Client too; it'll automatically upload character data to WOWDB in preparation of our character profile system, as well as several other cool features we've got cooking.

Search Filters and Bookmarking
Have you ever come up with a complex search filter on database websites in the past, and wished you could save that set of filters on the website, instead of having to clutter up your browser's bookmarks? With WOWDB, you can!We have a robust search filter system, as well as the ability to save those filters in a special "Bookmarks" section that appears on all pages when logged in. You can save up to 20 Bookmarks, so check out the images below to see some examples.

Wish Lists
All MMO players typically have that "Wish List" of items that they desire more than anything else in the game. WOWDB now empowers you -- allowing you to create your wish lists for the world to see. We've even taken it a step further; not only can you create a Wish List of items, but also quests you'd like to complete, and monsters you'd like to tame with your Hunter! You can have up to 100 entries and multiple Wish Lists, so if you'd like to organize them by your expectations, to plan out a roadmap for obtaining items, completing quests, or taming that illustrious bear, you can. Check out the images below for some examples!![]() Add Item | ![]() Add Quest | ![]() Add NPC | ![]() Creating a Wish List | ![]() View Wish Lists |
Quest Maps
Finding information on a quest is great and all, but that doesn't tell you everything. Sure, you know what zone to go to when searching for the mob to kill, what NPC starts the quest, and what NPC ends the quest, but what if you knew every single available location of who starts it, who ends it, and every objective? With WOWDB's quest maps, you can, and it's simple. Check out the images below for an example -- we'll use the quest "Crushridge Warmongers," which starts in Southshore, and involves killing ogres in the zone "Alterac Mountains."

Fully Featured Talent Calculator
We've taken the typical Talent Calculator to an entirely new level. Not only can you do everything you can elsewhere, like importing from the Armory or the official WoW Talent Calculator, but you can also raise the level cap to 80 to plan ahead for Wrath of the Lich King. Oh, and of course you can submit your build to become a "Preset Build." Preset Builds can be rated by the community, and anyone can comment directly to your build page to get a discussion going on the talent selections.
