This quest is part of the questline to obtain the Creepy Crate pet, a full guide follows:

The introductory quest is A Season for Celebration (Alliance) or A Season for Celebration (Horde).

• Alliance players are sent to Celestine of the Harvest at the Gates of Stormwind.
• Horde players are sent to Darkcaller Yanka outside the Ruins of Lordaeron.

The introductory quest then leads to A Friend in Need (Alliance) (offered by Gretchen Fenlow) or A Friend in Need (Horde) (offered by Candace Fenlow).

• Alliance players are sent to Anson Hastings inside the Gilded Rose in Stormwind.
• Horde players are sent to Edgar Goodwin inside the Broken Tusk in Orgrimmar.

Anson Hastings offers Missing Heirlooms to Alliance players. Edgar Goodwind offers Missing Heirlooms to Horde players.

• Alliance players are sent to the cabin of the Hired Courier's ship in Stormwind Harbor, where you'll find the Hired Courier dead.
• Horde players are sent to the cabin of the Hired Courerier's ship at the Orgrimmar Docks, where you'll find the Hired Courier dead.

The dead Alliance courier offers Fencing the Goods (Alliance). The dead Horde courier offers Fencing the Goods (Horde).

• Alliance players: Follow the trail of spiders to Auctioneer Fitch in the Trade District auction house.
• Horde players: Follow the trail of spiders to Auctioneer Drezmit in the Valley of Strength auction house.

Auctioner Fitch offers Shopping Around to Alliance players. Auctioneer Drezmit offers Shopping Around to Horde players.

• Alliance players are sent to the Shady Lady in Stormwind. Inside you'll find Hudson Barnes (initially with a white question mark above his head). After he finishes a small dialogue, the question mark will turn yellow.
• Horde players are sent to Son Salvage in Orgrimmar. Inside you'll find Delian Sunshade (initially with a white question mark above his head). After he finishes a small dialogue, the question mark will turn yellow.

Hudson Barnes offers Taking Precautions andto Alliance players. Delian Sunshade offers Taking Precautions to Horde players.

• Alliance players: Strange Dust can be purchased from Jessara Cordell in a Cordell Enchanting in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind. Crystal Vials can be bought from most Trade Supplies and General Goods vendors, Eldraeith inside the store Alchemy Needs in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind is a good choice seeing as she's so close to Jessara Cordell. Blood Nettle can be found around the trees and bushes in the fields north of Stormwind's Dwarven District. Return to Hudson Barnes after you've gathered all of the items.
• Horde players: Strange Dust can be purchased from Kithas inside Godan's Runeworks in the Drag in Orgrimmar. Crystal Vials can be bought from most Trade Supplies and General Goods vendors, Brunda inside her shop in the Drag in Orgrimmar is a good choice seeing as she's so close to Kithas. Blood Nettle can be found in the Valley of Wisdom. Return to Delian Sunshade after you've gathered all of the items.

Hudson Barnes then offers The Collector's Agent to Alliance Players. Delian Sunshade then offers The Collector's Agent to Horde players.

• Alliance players: Head to Cathedral of Light and then enter the Catacombs. Turn left at the T intersection and then left once more. Once there, an NPC willl go through a dialogue and then spawn a level appropriate voidwalker. Kill the voidwalker and then loot the crate.
• Horde players: Head to the courtyard in the Ruins of Lordaeron. Across from the room containing the orb to go to Silvermoon City is a room. Inside, an NPC will go through a dialogue. Kill the NPC and loot the crate.

Alliance players are given the quest What Now?. Horde players are given the quest What Now?.

• Alliance players: You can either return the crate to Anson Hastings at the Gilded Rose in Stormwind or Hudson Barnes at the Golden Keg in Stormwind.
• Horde players: You can either return the crate to Edgar Goodwin at the Broken Tusk in Orgrimmar or Delian Sunshade at the Wyvern's Tail in Orgrimmar.

Once What Now? is completed, you are awarded the companion pet.
