For shadow priests, you'll need to drop out of Shadowform to apply the mask to yourself, then re-enter Shadowform (buff will not be removed).
For balance druids, you will have to drop out of Moonkin form to use the mask. (I don't know if you can re-enter Moonkin form and keep the mask applied.)
