The Soul of the Horde
This quest is no longer available in game.
Speak with Wrathion.
Description
<Class>, through your eyes I've been able to witness the fighting along the coast, and the epic course of battles around the world. You've been very patient... and most informative.
I've also been keeping a close eye on Garrosh Hellscream. Would you be interested to hear what I've learned?
Patch 5.1 - Landfall
The invasion forces of the Horde and Alliance have arrived on the coast of Krasarang Wilds! (See optional breadcrumb quest, Incoming....) Wrathion wants you to meet up with the Horde in Krasarang and then report back. (Domination Point required to continue.)
Upon returning to Wrathion, the Black Prince discusses the direction of the Horde and Garrosh Hellscream's personal motivations. (The Measure of a Leader) What IS the purpose of the Horde, he asks you. Well, now is the time to prove your valor (and thus the Horde's). You can show your bravery through raiding, daily quests, and other adventuring. You will need to acquire 3000 Valor Points, which will take you at least a minimum of three weeks to earn because players are limited to earning 1000 VP per week. Tip: Players can use the achievement A Test of Valor to track their progress.
You will also need to gain more of Wrathion's trust, i.e.: reach Revered with The Black Prince. The quest The Prince's Pursuit suggests killing Alliance along the south shore of Krasarang Wilds; however, you can kill Mogu in Vale of Eternal Blossoms and in the Isle of Thunder (added in Patch 5.2). I preferred to farm Metal Lord Mono-Han for reasons you can read about on Speed Metal's page.
Now here comes the unpleasant part that caused me to take a few days break - after you've proven your bravery and trustworthiness, you have to show Wrathion that you can succeed in an organized battlefront. Yes, the Black Prince wants you to PvP. Glory to the Horde. I refused to spend hard-earned gold on a PvP set just for this quest, so I hopped into the battlegrounds and just tried my best to not die.
The other part of this step in the chain is A Change of Command. Apparently, Wrathion didn't like (or so he says) High Marshal Twinbraid's retaliation against the Horde in the Southern Barrens after the loss of Bael Modan. This is considered a raid-group quest. The most important mechanic of the fight is to interrupt Sound the Alarm, which will summon powerful adds.
Patch 5.3 made Glory to the Horde (indirectly) and A Change of Command easier: all players now have a base resilience of 65% at level 90 regardless of gear, and the High Marshal has a drastically reduced health pool.
Congratulations! Now all you have to do is listen to Wrathion speak about what he has learned about the Horde (The Soul of the Horde) to nab your Eye of the Black Prince. Should you need another Eye, visit Commander Oxheart or Blacktalon Quartermaster to purchase it for 2,500 gold.
